Bridge to the Cloud

Understanding Microsoft’s Bridge to the Cloud Promotion for On-Premises Dynamics ERP Users

Microsoft is investing heavily in the Cloud and is working to help companies take full advantage of the benefits of moving core business applications, like ERP, to the Cloud. With billions of dollars invested in the Azure Cloud Platform and the development of Cloud-based applications, it is no surprise Microsoft is keen to get customers moving on their journey to Cloud-enablement.

Bridge to the Cloud is a great promotional offer for existing on-premise ERP users and is designed to offer a scalable and affordable roadmap to the Cloud.

What is Bridge to the Cloud?

Microsoft created this promotion to enable existing on-premise customers active on their Enhancement Plan (EP) to renew their EP through the Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) program and receive Dynamics 365 Business Central online licenses i.e. on-premise Dynamics ERP clients can plan their transition to Business Central Online with VERY little risk.

Who is Eligible?

Existing Dynamics GP, Dynamics NAV, Dynamics SL, and Dynamics 365 Business Central on-premise customers are eligible for this promotion as long as they are active on their Enhancement Plan or have lapsed less than 30 days prior to enrollment. Existing customers can take advantage of this promotion on their existing renewal date only.

What are the Benefits of the Bridge to the Cloud Promotion?

Customers who choose to take advantage of the Bridge to the Cloud Promotion receive the following benefits:

  • Price point equal to Enhancement Plan renewal quote
  • Dual-use and downgrade rights to their current on-premises Dynamics Price List (DPL) product (Dynamics 365 Business Central, on-premises, Dynamics NAV, Dynamics GP, and Dynamics SL)*
  • Enhancement Plan benefits for the duration of the promo term
  • Dynamics 365 Business Central online licenses when the customer is ready to migrate

*Dual-use rights allow you to continue using your current Dynamics ERP on-premise system while you plan your transition to the Cloud, as long as you transition within a four-year timeframe. The added incentive when you sign up for the promotion is that Microsoft will discount the Business Central licenses to you by 60% off the list price for up to four years.

What is the Promotion Term?

Customers can enroll in the promo for an initial one-year term with the option to renew for an additional three years, for a total possible promotion term length of four years. At the end of the promotion term, customers can transfer to the available online licensing option for which they are eligible at that time.

When is the Promotion Available?

This promotion is available from September 1, 2021, until June 30, 2022.

Customers who enroll for the promotion by June 30, 2022, commit to a one-year subscription with three optional renewals afterward, making this offer a maximum of four years total.

How Much Does it Cost?

That’s the best part – the cost is equal to what a customer is already paying for their existing  Enhancement Plan renewal amount. After the promotional terms, customers then must purchase Dynamics 365 Business Central online licenses with an annualized total greater than or equal to their EP renewal amount.

How Do You Enroll?

Contact CRGroup, or your existing Microsoft Partner to discuss fit and to get signed up for the promotion.

Can You Transfer from CSP-EP to Bridge to the Cloud?

Yes, customers currently enrolled in the CSP-EP offer can transfer to the Bridge to the Cloud promotion and would benefit from a four-year term, as opposed to three years with CSP-EP. Customers do not need to wait until their Enhancement Plan renewal anniversary to make the switch. Contact us to learn more.
