Getting Festive with Adaptive Insights, Brew Donkey and our Amazing Clients
We officially kicked off the festive season at CRGroup last week with the help of Brad Campeau, owner of Brew Donkey. Brew Donkey is a local delivery business for area craft brewers that also offers tours of those breweries and guided craft beer tastings.
On Wednesday, Adaptive Insights joined us to co-host an event called the Financial Best Practices – Ottawa Craft Brewery & Tasting Tour. Adaptive Insights is the market leader in cloud based budgeting, forecasting and reporting. This was an opportunity for executives and financial professionals to get out of the office and spend an afternoon learning about financial planning and analysis while visiting two local craft breweries.
We were thrilled to be joined for the afternoon by Alastair McKeating, Regional Manager, Canada for Adaptive Insights. Alastair gave our guests a great overview of how organizations leverage the power and flexibility of better financial planning and analysis using Adaptive Insights. He also shared some Adaptive Insights customer highlights including some clients who have worked directly with CRGroup to implement the solution locally.
Our afternoon included a tour and samples at WhiprSnapr Brewing Company followed by lunch and more touring and beer-tasting at Ashton Brew Pub. Brad form Brew Donkey and the brew masters at both stops provided a lot of information about the local craft beer scene and where it may be headed, as well as tasting notes on the specific beers we were sampling. We would like to thank everyone who came out to join us for a great afternoon full of learning, networking and fun!
The very next day we invited Brew Donkey back to add a special twist to our annual client appreciation event. On Thursday we welcomed our local clients to join us in celebrating our continuing growth at our newly-expanded head office in Ottawa. It was great to introduce our new employees and engage with our clients, new and old!
Throughout the evening, guests were invited to sample four craft beers – each from a different Ottawa-area brewery:
- Backbone Standard, a Pale Ale from Broadhead Brewing Company
- Earl Grey Marmalade, a Saison from Dominion City Brewing Company
- Double Double, a Stout & Porter from Covered Bridge Brewing
- Pink Fuzz, an IPA from Beyond the Pale Brewing Company
The guided sampling was led by Brendan who is a BJCP-certified Beer Judge. He provided tasting notes for the beers and was great at answering everyone’s questions. Throughout the evening the room was buzzing with conversation and good cheer.
For those who weren’t able to join us, we managed to capture a bit of the Brew Donkey presentation on video. Unfortunately the quality of the video isn’t great (we blame the beer goggles), but it will give you a taste of what our guests learned from Brad and Brendan.
Cheers from CRGroup!
